It was the first anniversary of the Vantage GTE's FIA WEC debut in Belgium.

At this seventh round of FIA WEC, the temperature was 5degrees Celsius and the track temperature was 9degrees Celsius. The weather condition kept changing during the race.

In the beginning, the #95 took a lead, being quick to make a pit stop in the rain just after the race started. Soon afterwards, the condition got worse and the temperature had fallen to 1degree Celsius. A snow storm hit the race with large hail and sleet, resulting in the safety car being called out in 25 minutes after the race started.

While having incredibly frequent sudden changes in the weather and numerous safety car periods, the #97 Aston Martin jumped ahead to take the lead with 3 hours and 30 minutes left on the clock.

With 12 minutes to go, the weather got worse dramatically and the race director decided that they could not continue the race. At the result of the red flag that froze the position, the #97 Aston Martin took the victory in the competitive race.
