On October 7, the World Foundation Aids Research and Prevention President Prof. Luc Montagnier held a press conference at the Japan National Press Club in Tokyo.
On October 7, the World Foundation Aids Research and Prevention President Prof. Luc Montagnier held a press conference at the Japan National Press Club in Tokyo. With Mr. Kazuo Miyata as the chairman, prof. Montagnier talked passionately about his concerns on the current situation of Aids Epidemic as well as the therapeutic research saying that:
"Thanks to the HAART (Highly Active Anti-Retroviral Therapy) HIV carriers are now able to lead their loves with better conditions. However, there are still various concerns. The drugs are expensive and have serious side-effects. The patients have to take them every single day. This is not a solution for AIDS"
"After reducing the virus till undetected amount by using HAART at early stage, if we use therapeutic vaccine or antioxidants to reinforce the immune system of the patients, we would be able to keep the virus level as low as possible even the virus is still hiding in the body."
